A Simple Spring Salad for Bunnies, Guinea Pigs, and Hamsters!

 I love my little bunny rabbit! I take him out of his cage to play and eat veggies every day, and he's so cute. He looks like a Disney character! So, when I was making him some food, I decided to made this video for my Youtube channel, and decided to post it here, too. Enjoy!

5 Reasons Bunnies are Great Pets!

I might have an obsession.... I got a pet bunny from the county fair last Summer. His name is Yoshi (after the Mario character), and he's a tiny brown and white dutch bunny. I love him so much! I spoil him, too, he gets cuddled every night before bed, and I hang out with him for the majority of the time that I'm in my bedroom. I also go outside in the middle of winter in order to pick clovers for him to eat. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm obsessed. Anyway, because I love my bunny so much, I've made the top 5 reasons why bunnies are great pets (in no particular order). Keep in mind, though, bunnies aren't meant for everyone, they require lots of commitment and care, and can live up to 12 years.

#5: They Are Loving.

most bunnies are very friendly and love to be petted. They will hang out with you on a bed or couch, and sometimes even nudge you with their heads as a way of saying "Hey! Don't forget to pet me!" They don't like being held, but petting and cuddling the is so wonderful, and a great way to relieve stress after a rough day.

#4: They Are Super Cute.

Bunnies are pretty much synonymous with cuteness. They come in so many different colors and size, with floppy ears or straight ears, to suit any taste in cuteness. They all have big round eyes, twitchy noses, and fluffy tails. They even have a little hopping dance they do called binkying when they're happy! I just can't handle all of this cuteness!

#3: They're Really Playful.

Bunnies love to hop around and toss their toys. Watching your bunny hop around the house or backyard (with supervision, of course) is super entertaining. They run around as if they're in some sort of bunny race, or like they just drank a cup of coffee with tons of caffeine!

#2: They love treats and veggies!

Bunnies eat, a lot, and they look pretty freaking adorable while they do it. They'll eat cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, grass, clovers, strawberries, and even orange peels. You can give them treats and they'll reward you by adorably (is that even a word?) munching on them with their adorable faces! You can even take your bunny outside in a contained area (once again, with supervision) and they'll graze on clovers, dandelions, and grass, just like wild bunnies!

#1: They keep themselves clean.

Unlike many other small pets,  bunnies do not smell like poop (unless you don't clean their cage.) Bunnies groom themselves a lot, so they always look clean, and smell like fresh hay. They can even be taught to use a litter box, so they don't make a mess, making their cages super easy to clean. Bunnies are so clean, I don't even feel like I need to wash my hands after petting mine.

Guinea Pig Pros and Cons

So, I went to a new school recently, and guess what? They have a ton of pets!!!! YAY!
They have four guinea pigs, and my favorite is Marvin. He is awesome, and he goes "Squeee! Squee!" when you pet him, then there's also Peanut, she is another guinea pig who is shy but is getting more and more social every day! I take care of the guinea pigs every day at school, and soooooo, this leads me to pros and cons of guinea pigs!

Pro: The Adorable Little Noises!
Some of the sounds you'll hear are "Squee!!", "Coo-oo-oo", and "WHEEK!".

Con: They Poop- A LOT!
Yeah, you'll have to clean their cage  every two weeks or even more often, or it will be really smelly!

Pro: They are Fluffy and Cute
Well, if you want a guinea pig, you probably know how cute they are, but have you seen the ultra-fluffy puff balls that are SILKIE GUINEA PIGS! I mean, you can even put little bows in their fur!

Con: DUN DUN DUNNNNNN! The Vet!
Yep, guinea pigs need to go to the vet, too. They need an annual check-up at a small animal vet, which can cost as much as it would for a cat or dog! And if they need a surgery? Well.... that could be up to 1,000 bucks. Yikes!

Pro: They Don't Mind Being Held!
Yep. You can just sit on the couch watching TV with a little piggy on your lap. And your guinea pig, once socialized, will be totally fine with it!


So now you know! Guinea pigs are awesome, but not as cheap or easy as a hamster. Is it worth it, for all the guinea pig greatness, or would you rather get a gerbil? That's your choice.

I LOVE my new betta fish!!

I got a betta fish on Sunday. Her name is Ocean, and she's a blue veiltail with red fins. I got her from Petco (where there are a lot of betta fish) after doing some gardening. I was interested in breeding them, until I read that they can have over a hundred fry! I would like to have a family of betta fish, but not a hundred fish. At leat I still have the guppy families. But, i still really love Ocean. Here is a bad picture I took of her on my tablet (she kept moving). She is so cute!
